"The Port of Seattle has a huge impact on our air, water and land,"
said Marcus Courtney, Co-Chair of King County Conservation Voters.
"Gael will bring her experience on climate change and responding to oil
spills to the Port and ensure that we protect the environment and
foster our economy." King County Conservation Voters endorsed incumbent
Alec Fisken as well based on his leadership on sound environmental
policy during his first term as a Port commissioner. He has
demonstrated commitment to taking a proactive approach towards keeping
the air and water affected by Port operations clean without hurting the
economic viability of the Port.
Additionally, Washington Conservation Voters chose to endorse Keri
Andrews in the Bellevue City Council race due to her commitment to
taking on climate change. "To address climate change in a serious way
we need leaders who can put politics aside and take on the tough
challenges we face," said Chapter Co-Chair Frank Paganelli. "We need
leadership on this issue at all levels of government, and Keri will be
that voice on the Bellevue City Council."
King County Conservation Voters has also endorsed the following candidates in this first round:
