About Kevin Sweeney: Kevin Sweeney is the Alliance’s chief of staff.  Kevin directed the Irish American Climate Project, which issued a 2008 report merging the work of climate scientists, poets, musicians and other artists.  He coordinated a project that resulted in a 2007 report – based on input from eleven retired generals and admirals – on the national security implications of climate change. As a management consultant focused on corporate social responsibility he has worked with many major corporations. He was an executive at Patagonia, the outdoor clothing company. He served as special assistant to Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt, as press secretary to Sen. Gary Hart (in the Senate and on the presidential campaign), and as press secretary to Rep. Ed Markey. He was a television reporter for CBS’s Atlanta affiliate, and has written opinion articles for Salon.com, the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Newark Star-Ledger and many other newspapers.
