Campaign and Outreach Internship

Washington’s leading political environmental organization seeks two or three students to join our field campaign team as interns. As the political voice for the environment, Washington Conservation Voters works to advocate for strong environmental policies and also endorses and elects environmental candidates to office. The General internship is an opportunity for a student to learn more about politics, campaigns, development and membership, organizational development, grassroots capacity building, volunteer coordinating and/or outreach to the public.

Washington’s leading political environmental organization seeks an intern to assist in outreach and grassroots organizing. This internship is an excellent opportunity to develop skills and experience with a political organization. Working closely with the staff, the intern will help win campaigns and promote values to protect Washington’s environment and public health.

Interns will work in our office in the following areas: politics, development and membership, organizational development, grassroots capacity building, volunteer coordinating and/or outreach to the public.

POTENTIAL AREAS OF WORK

•    Researching conservation and political credentials of candidates running for office.
•    Assisting in event planning for candidate campaigns and WCV events
•    Volunteer recruitment, including outreach to local college campus and community organizations
•    Organizing volunteers for campaign activities, such as doorbelling and phone banking
•    Promoting Washington Conservation Voters at local festivals and fairs by staffing tables
•    Researching opportunities to increase membership and volunteer base

We are flexible and can work around your school or work schedule.  We ask that interns commit at least 10-30 hours a week for 2-4 months.  College credit can be arranged.  The main part of the internship would take place in our downtown Seattle office, however working in Tacoma or remotely may be arranged.
